Eager to celebrate an important milestone, 15 years operating as a business, Markerstudy organised

its very own festival for employees, their families and esteemed friends on Saturday 7 th May 2016.

‘MSG Fest’ was held at the Group’s recent acquisition, Bewl Water, a renowned reservoir and beauty

spot on the border of Kent and Sussex.

Wanting to organise an event with a real ‘WOW’ factor but that adhered to local regulations and

caused minimal disturbance to local residents, the team embarked on putting a spectacle together

that would mimic Glastonbury on a smaller scale, with a strong family focus.

3500 guests (1500 staff and their families plus approximately 300 VIP’s)

Bewl Water is a large reservoir with plenty of open land to host an event and entertainment for a

large group of people. It is the perfect destination to facilitate a number of activities that would

appeal to different age groups and tastes.

 

A melee of activities were arranged including dragon boat racing, bubble football, fairground rides,

camping and glamping, face painting, food, drink and entertainment from headline acts, Craig David

and the Kaiser Chiefs in a ‘Big Top’. Eventist Group provided the catering through Tapenade and

washing facilities, rubbish collection, cleaners and some lighting and power for the event.

 

Although Bewl Water is a large area we had limited usable space. Elements we had to give

consideration to were weather and consequently the ground. We also had to ensure we caused

minimal disturbance to local residents.

We have worked with the team for the past 3 years on large events varying from 200 to 3500 guests.

They are always a pleasure to work with and their ‘can do’ attitude is always appreciated especially

when onsite and under pressure.

Their food and service always exceeds expectations and all staff are extremely friendly, helpful and

efficient.
